I’m Veronica, a crazy lady who decided to make her life even more interesting by making a vow to abstain from sex until marriage. I’ve recently entered my eighth year of this journey and decided it’s time to share my experiences–both good and bad, that have brought me to this point. PSA: I’ve been accused of lacking a filter and while I work tirelessly to improve this, I believe you all will benefit from my rawness.
The content of my blog posts range greatly as have my varied experiences. I realized almost immediately after I launched, there’s no way I can just talk about my dating life. And here’s why…Who we are in dating relationships is a culmination of everything we’ve ever experienced. From our families of origin, the way we were brought up, any encounters with trauma or abuse, our personalities, how we engage with others and how they engage with us, our unique experiences, our education, our religious and/or spiritual beliefs, core values, etc.–all of this molds who we are individually as well as in relationships.
So, in addition to the hilarious stories chronicling my dating woes, I infuse content that points to the many elements that influence who I am in dating relationships. I have embraced the posture of being the sacrificial lamb with regard to the pursuit of wholeness (mental, emotional, and spiritual health) as individuals and in our relationships. In essence, I am raw and vulnerable in my posts ultimately with the hope of freeing others to be and do the same. Because let’s face it…We gotta own our crap before we can become the best versions of ourselves.
